As the voice of doctors in the Greater Sacramento Region, SSVMS advocates on behalf of both physicians and patients. As someone who serves on the front lines of health care delivery, elected officials and policymakers need to hear your voice to make informed policy, legislation, and regulations.
We affect policy by giving testimony at meetings of the Board of Supervisors, spearheading coalitions of local healthcare organizations, lobbying members of Congress and the State Legislature, and more. Take your seat at the table and impact the profession of medicine.

In conjunction with CMA’s Political Action Committee (CALPAC), SSVMS and CMA work to support physician-friendly candidates for election at the local, state, and federal level. We accomplish this by interviewing and vetting candidates for political offices and by sharing physician experiences and educating elected officials.
SSVMS and CMA work to uphold physicians' and patients' rights, preserve legislative reforms and advocate for appropriate interpretation of laws. We monitor regulatory agencies to ensure that they are fulfilling their intended purpose, whether it be to distribute health care benefits or properly regulate the health care industry and challenge any unfair policies or actions against physicians.
