Influenza season has officially started   Influenza activity is currently low in California. This influenza season may be complicated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As a reminder, all health care providers are required to report all COVID-19 cases and all severe influenza cases to Sacramento County Public Health.   For information about influenza, visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s website, the California Department of Public Health’s website, or SCPH’s website.   For information about immunization services, contact the Sacramento County Immunization Assistance Program at 916-875-7468.

The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency is seeking physicians and other volunteers to participate in upcoming Mass Vaccination Plans.  Community Service Certificates will be issued for all volunteers and food and drinks will be available for all volunteers. Licensed physicians interested in vaccinated must complete an Medical Points of Dispensing (MPOD) volunteer application and register as Disaster Healthcare Volunteer (DHV). Non-medical volunteers, including medical students, can volunteer by completing a brief MPOD course. Upon completion of the class, interested individuals will be given the option to submit a volunteer application. Contact: Volunteer.Coordinator@yolocounty.org.
