Mentors In Medicine

Do you remember medical school? The long hours, the overwhelming workload, and, at times, the loneliness? Now imagine that experience amplified – with more competition, more debt, and an ever-changing healthcare landscape. It’s no surprise that students with mentorship thrive where others struggle.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce the Mentorship in Medicine program, a new initiative connecting established physicians like you with aspiring healthcare professionals. Whether it’s job shadowing for high school students, giving a lecture, participating in speed mentoring, or committing to a five-month one-on-one mentorship, there’s an opportunity for everyone to make an impact.

Mentorship isn’t just about professional development – it fosters hope, belonging, and purpose. For mentees, it’s personalized guidance, a supportive network, and insights that textbooks can’t offer. For mentors, it’s giving back, gaining fresh perspectives, and reigniting your own passion for medicine.

Together, we can build a more resilient, diverse, and compassionate healthcare workforce – one that mirrors the community it serves.

Time is precious, but the investment in mentorship creates ripple effects that last generations. I invite you to join me in shaping the future of medicine.

Learn more in the latest SSV Medicine magazine and sign up to mentor here.

Thank you!
