SSV Medical Society News - 2025 - Volume 14 - Issue 03 Upcoming Events, Latest News, and More MEDICAL SOCIETY NEWS STAY CURRENT WITH IMPORTANT MEMBER-ONLY NEWS AND INFORMATION THANK YOU FOR YOUR SSVMS/CMA MEMBERSHIP PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Saving Medicaid Congress is poised to vote on devastating Medicaid cuts of up to $880 billion, threatening health care access for 15 million Californians – including children, seniors, persons with disabilities, pregnant individuals, veterans, and low-income families. These cuts would not only leave our most vulnerable patients without care but also overwhelm physicians, emergency departments, and rural hospitals, pushing many already threatened facilities to the brink of closure. Access to care needs to be expanding, not restricting. We must act now. SSVMS and CMA are calling on you to help stop these harmful cuts by urging your member of Congress to oppose them. The votes in the coming days will be critical, and your voice can make a real impact. Take action today by clicking here. Our patients and communities are counting on us to stand up for them. Thank you for lending your voice to protect access to care. Thank you! Adam Dougherty, MD, MPH SSVMS President I'm Contacting My Congressmember!
